The first Grading in a long time at Sevenoaks Knole. We cannot say enough about how well this class performed and it showed clearly that Luke and his senior instructors truly understand what is necessary for students to do well, all working hard in a very happy environment. There was a great atmosphere sweat was created with their efforts. Really, well done to all you the students and our sincere thanks to Luke for his sincerity in maintaining the standards and keeping Sevenoaks going forwards.
It is great to hear that Sevenoaks Knole classes are going, and growing so well. The feedback I receive is so very positive. Now with some twenty students regularly attending the class it shows what good choice of leadership with, Luke managing very ably with Mark and Wayne. It is good that you as students have trust in them as I do. These men indeed know a lot !
I have a good time when Luke and Steve visit me for wooden dummy training and immerse themselves in it’s complexity, I look forward to their visits, as I look forward to visiting Knole Academy soon in October. See you then !!
I have now taken the difficult decision to stop full time teaching of Wing Chun. These last few months have allowed the arthritis in me to develop and become uncomfortable.
All these years have been a great experience and I have learnt a lot through teaching too. Seeing students develop, not just in my classes but also those from other groups when grading has made it all very rewarding and worthwhile.
I will still be a part of Wing Chun UK seen at seminars and gradings when the virus allows our kind of martial art to resume. (And, probable surprise visits to Sevenoaks classes)
Sevenoaks classes will now be managed by Luke Rubens who has been training in private lessons with Sifu Ed and I for some time. Luke has the full support from Mark Heathcote and Wayne Helsdown, both 3rd Technicians and they continue to train Luke up through the high levels. They are all keen to restart when feasible and look forward to seeing you then.
The feedback so far has been positive with students ready and willing to pick up from where they left off.
We anticipate that initially classes will begin once a week when the time is right.
The learning of the Muk Yang Jong (wooden man form) is now available to learn at ANY student level. See the Hildenborough page for information if interested.
So, until we meet again hopefully in 2021 I wish you the best of health.
Sifu Tony Hollander

We had a great night out with 20 members, first to the Humphrey Bean and then onto the Oriental Buffet Club in Tonbridge. A good time to socialise and celebrate Christmas (a little early) approaching the end of an excellent year. Many new faces and great students coming through.
What a brilliant week of grading. The levels reached were really good. And we really enjoyed seeing the students from further afield who did their respective instructors proud.
